My research interests are primarily in the cross-section of HIV and substance use. I received a National Research Service Award through NIDA to test a behavioral intervention intended to increase antiretroviral adherence and decrease drug use in active substance users. Another interest is in psychological aspects of HIV transmission risk behaviors among HIV-positive and negative individuals. Finally, I am also interested in how research findings affect health policy concerning drug issues."
